Blue Jodhpur and its stunning fort

Jodhpur felt a bit disappointing at first but once we reached the city walls and the amazing Mehrangarh Fort we were baffled by its beauty. The fort is a stellar example of Rajasthani architecture and was a delight to explore with all its palaces inside. Walking through blue city on the other side of the fort in the evening light and having a drink on a rooftop terrace made the day even more memorable. Take look at my impressions of Jodhpur:

Jodhpur trip summary

  • Transport: By train
  • Stay: We stayed at the Govind hotel and couldn’t really complain: it’s close to the railway station, has a nice balcony to sit on (but average breakfast), not a too far walk away from the fort and the rooms & bathroom were clean. But while walking through the city we discovered Castle View Guesthouse which has a nice rooftop terrace with a stunning view of the fort. The people working there were super nice too and there’s a restaurant.
  • Things to do: We only saw the fort and walked around the city.
