Mughal architecture at its best in Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri was the capital of the Mughal empire for about 10 years. The whole complex is amazingly well preserved and hosts some stunning architecture with lots of details. It’s hard to believe this place is only 37 km’s from Agra. I hope more people find their ways to it and don’t only come to the district to gaze at the Taj Mahal.

Fatehpur Sikri trip summary

  • Transport: We took the bus to and from Agra and spent an afternoon at Fatehpur Sikri, you don’t need more than that
  • Food: We had lunch at the little restaurant directly at the bus stop
  • Places to see: All the buildings are part of one big complex, they are hard to miss.
